1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using The STEM Academy's website and tutoring services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing our services. These Terms of Service apply to all visitors, users, and students of The STEM Academy.

2. Description of Services

The STEM Academy provides private tutoring and academic mentoring services in STEM subjects, including but not limited to Calculus, Physics, and Chemistry. Our services are offered both in-person in the College Station/Bryan, Texas area and online via video conferencing. The specific scope, schedule, and terms of tutoring arrangements will be agreed upon between The STEM Academy and the student or their guardian.

3. Registration and Eligibility

To use our tutoring services, you may be required to provide accurate and complete information about yourself or the student receiving services. You agree to:

• Provide truthful and accurate information during registration and communication
• Keep your contact information current
• Be at least 18 years of age, or have a parent or guardian consent to these Terms if you are a minor
• Use the services in compliance with all applicable laws

4. Scheduling and Cancellation Policy

We understand that schedules can change. To ensure fairness and availability for all students, we maintain the following policies:

• Scheduling: Sessions are scheduled by mutual agreement and are subject to tutor availability.
• Cancellations:We request at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a cancellation fee.
• Rescheduling: We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate rescheduling requests when given adequate notice.
• Emergencies: We understand emergencies happen. Please communicate with us as soon as possible in case of unexpected circumstances.

5. Payment Terms

Payment terms will be agreed upon prior to the commencement of tutoring services:

• Tutoring rates and payment schedules will be communicated clearly before services begin
• Payment is expected according to the agreed-upon schedule (per session, weekly, monthly, or package-based)
• We accept various payment methods as discussed during enrollment
• Failure to make timely payments may result in suspension of tutoring services

6. Student Conduct and Expectations

To ensure a productive learning environment, students are expected to:

• Come to sessions prepared with relevant materials (textbooks, notes, assignments)
• Participate actively and engage honestly in the learning process
• Treat the tutor with respect and professionalism
• Complete any recommended practice or homework between sessions
• Communicate openly about areas of confusion or concern

7. Academic Integrity

The STEM Academy is committed to academic integrity. Our tutoring services are designed to help students understand concepts and develop problem-solving skills—not to complete assignments, exams, or other graded work on their behalf. Students are expected to adhere to their school's academic integrity policies. We reserve the right to discontinue services if we believe our tutoring is being used to circumvent academic integrity standards.

8. Limitation of Liability

While we strive to provide high-quality tutoring services, The STEM Academy does not guarantee specific academic outcomes, grades, or test scores. Results depend on many factors including student effort, attendance, and individual circumstances. The STEM Academy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our services.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and educational materials, is the property of The STEM Academy or its content suppliers and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content without our express written permission.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate tutoring services at any time with reasonable notice. The STEM Academy reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services to any student for reasons including but not limited to: violation of these Terms, non-payment, disruptive behavior, or attempts to compromise academic integrity.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Brazos County, Texas.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated to active students. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
